An auction for a full page of prime advertising space in four of Canada’s major news organizations will open May 20, 2015.

The Canadian Journalism Foundation is grateful for the support of the following in-kind supporters for donating advertising space and supporting the cause of excellence in journalism. All funds raised will go towards supporting CJF programs.

Auction Details

This online auction for prime advertising space in The Globe and Mail, Maclean's, Metro, and the Toronto Star begins May 20, with the winner announced at the 2015 CJF Awards at The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.

Bids are to be made in minimum $1,000 increments.

The opportunity to bid on the advertising space will fall under the following conditions for The Globe and Mail, Metro, and the Toronto Star:

•    Applies to web-based or print-based advertising
•    Applies to supplied insert distribution, full-colour ads (subject to availability and Publisher approval)
•    Established contract rates apply
•    Can be passed on to a third party (e.g. Corporate-favoured charity, or other party subject to Publisher approval)
•    Standard Terms and Conditions of Advertising will apply to the ad space purchased. You can view the conditions for The Globe and MailMetro, and the Toronto Star.
•    Advertising space purchased through the auction is valid until December 31, 2015.

•    Applies to print-based advertising
•    Established contract rates apply

Bids close at 9:00 p.m. on June 3. The winners will be announced at the CJF Awards.

Proceeds from the auction will go towards supporting The Canadian Journalism Foundation (CJF), a not-for-profit organization that promotes excellence in journalism by celebrating outstanding journalistic achievement through an annual awards program; by organizing events that facilitate dialogue among journalists, business people, government officials, academics and students about the role of the media in Canadian society; by supporting journalism websites, J-Source.ca (English) and ProjetJ.ca (French); and by fostering opportunities for journalism education, training and research.
